BUTTE, Mont.- The Orediggers are headed to the Frontier Conference Championship tonight after defeating Carroll College in four sets on Saturday morning in Great Falls, Mont.
The No. 17 Orediggers jumped ahead on the Saints in the first set 25-19, dropped the second set, 24-26, before rebounding back and winning the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 28-26.
Montana Tech outhit the Saints .168 to .097 and tallied 57 kills over the course of the match. The Orediggers had a huge day from
Maureen Jessop who led all hitters with 18 kills while
Karina Mickelson and
Gena McMillan each chipped in 13 kills.
Heather Thompson led the Orediggers with four blocks while
McKenna Kaelber tallied 48 assists and
Sabrina Hopcroft added 32 digs. McMillan and Mickelson also contributed 27 and 16 digs respectively.
Carroll College's Taelyr Krantz led the Saints with 12 kills while Ali Williams notched 26 assists.
The Orediggers will play No. 19 Providence at 7 p.m. at the McLaughlin Center.
