CALDWELL, Idaho- Montana Tech's 65-foot buzzer beater attempt rimmed out against the College of Idaho as the Orediggers lost the finale of the Taco Bell Classic, 76-74.
The
Sindou Diallo three-quarter court heave just missed for the Orediggers after the junior wing's three-point play tied the contest up just moments before a College of Idaho made jumper. The Diggers trailed 34-25 at halftime to the hometown Yotes before finding a rhythm offensively and shooting 6-for-11 from deep in the second half.
The Diggers received 23 points from Diallo while
Troy Owens Jr. chipped in 14. Taylor Englad added eight points and
Derrius Collins scored seven. College of Idaho was led in scoring by Nate Bruneel who scored 14 points.
Montana Tech forced College of Idaho into 15 turnovers and held the Yotes to just 40.7% shooting from the floor.
The Diggers play an exhibition against the University of Montana on November 18th in Missoula.
