BUTTE- A cold shooting second half doomed Montana Tech against No. 13 Lewis-Clark State Warriors, 77-63.
The Diggers jumped out to an 42-40 halftime advantage thanks to 53.5 percent shooting from the floor and a 7-for-12 effort from three point territory. The Diggers struggled shooting in the second stanza going just 6-for-27 from the floor and 1-for-7 from deep. Montana Tech finished the contest shooting 38 percent.
Montana Tech was again led offensively by sophomore standout
Taylor England who scored 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting. England added eight rebounds on the night to lead the Diggers on the glass as well.
Troy Owens Jr. scored 11 and
Derrius Collins added eight.
Lewis-Clark State shot 46 percent for the contest and was led on the offensive end by Race Martin who tallied 19 points off the bench.
The Diggers return to action when they host Frontier Conference rival Carroll College on Thursday February 21. That game tips at 7 P.M.
