BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech Orediggers dropped their third contest of the season to No. 8 Carroll College 63-52.
The Orediggers (13-15, 3-14) came within three points with 3:23 to go in the game, but missed their shots down the stretch.
Both teams struggled shooting in the game. The Orediggers shot 28.3 percent from the field and the Fighting Saints shot 37.7 percent. The Saints carried a slight edge in rebounds 43-41.
The Orediggers went 13 for 14 from the free throw line.
Kaylee Zard had just three points but pulled down 15 rebounds.
Mesa Williams had 13 points and a team-high 5 for 10 shootings.
Mollie Peoples had 12 points and 3 steals.
Danielle Wagner had 28 points for the Saints and Hannah Dean added 21. Both Wagner and Dean had 9 rebounds apiece.
Montana Tech finishes off the regular season tomorrow night against Rocky Mountain.
