BUTTE – Montana Tech improved to 2-0 at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge defeating Bethel College in four sets 25-16, 17-25, 25-16, 25-27.
After hitting over .310 as a team in the first frame, the Orediggers went negative in the second set committing 12 hitting errors. Tech rebounded with two more sets of solid hitting over .300.
The Orediggers outhit the Pilots 55-44 and finished with a .230 hitting percentage.
Freshman outside
Maureen Jessop led the attack with a career high 17 kills. The Corvallis product finished hitting .333 in the match.
Senior middle
Heather Thompson had 12 kills and
Karina Mickelson added 11.
McKenna Kaelber had 47 assists.
Bethel's Payton Hart led all attackers with 22 kills hitting for .311 in the match.
Montana Tech finishes the day with College of Idaho at 7 p.m.

BUTTE – The Orediggers upset No. 12 College of Idaho in three straight sets 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 in an important non-conference match.
Montana Tech (6-1) improves to 3-0 at the tournament hosted in Butte.
The Orediggers outhit the Yotes 41-30.
Freshman
Maureen Jessop led the Oredigger attack for the second straight match with 14 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.
Gena McMillan had 11 kills and
Karina Mickelson added six.
Sabrina Hopcroft led the defense with 15 digs.
The College of Idaho was led by Ashley Pagan and Jordyn Boswell with eight digs a piece.
