BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech edges Montana Western 82-76 to complete the season sweep of the Bulldogs.
The Orediggers (9-7, Frontier 9-5) defeat the Bulldogs (3-8, Frontier 2-8) for the third time this week and fourth on the season.
The game was tightly contested with the score tied 15 times and 20 lead changes.
Montana Tech led 33-32 at halftime shooting 46.4 percent from the field. The Orediggers finished with a 48.3 shooting percentage and hitting 9-of-16 from beyond the arc.
The Bulldogs shot 42.6 percent from the field and hit 10-of-17 from deep.
Derrius Collins led the Orediggers with 15 points going 5-for-9 from the field and 2-for-2 from three. Collins added 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and, 2 blocks to his totals.
Sindou Diallo had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Nate Ward had 12 points.
Cody Baumstarck also hit double-digits with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.
Jalen Hodges led the Bulldogs with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Hodges shot 10-of-18 on the night and 7-for-9 from the free throw line.
Montana Tech travels to the University of Providence next weekend.
