Argos Pull Away From Diggers Late

BUTTE, Mont.- The Orediggers second attempt at a dramatic comeback against the No. 14 Argos fell short on Tuesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court, 94-89. 

The Diggers (3-4, 3-2 Conf.) trailed Providence by eight points at the break, 46-38. After trailing by as many at 20 points in the first half, the Diggers tied the contest at 86-86 with 48 seconds left. Four free throws by the Argos over the last 25 seconds separated them from the Diggers. 

Montana Tech finished the night shooting 45.3 percent from the floor and went 10-for-26 from three point land. The Argos shot 41.8% and finished 11-for-23 from three. 

The Diggers were led in scoring by Sindou Diallo and Derrius Collins who tallied 18 and 17 points respectively. Nate Ward scored 15 points while Drew Huse added 12 second half points and Bridger Larson scored 10. Cody Baumstarck added nine, Christian Jones five, and Camdyn Larance had three. 

The Argos were led by Zaccheus Darko-Kelly who scored a game-high 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting. 

Montana Tech returns to action when they host Rocky Mountain College at 7 p.m. on Saturday night at Kelvin Sampson Court.
