BUTTE, Mont. – No. 17 Montana Tech dropped the first two sets, but rallied back against Carroll College to take the match 23-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-14, 15-5.
The Orediggers (18-8, 4-3) move into second place in the Frontier Conference standings ahead of the Saints (9-11, 4-3).
The Orediggers dominated the kill margin with 67 kills to just 43 by the Saints. But Tech committed 27 hitting errors with 19 coming in the first three sets.
Tech hit for .250 and .263 in the final two frames and finished with a .213 hitting percentage.
Maureen Jessop led the attack with 22 kills and just one hitting error. Jessop finished with a .447 hitting percentage. She also had five aces.
Olivia Muir finished with 18 kill and a .273 hitting percentage.
Karina Mickelson had 11 kills and
Taylor Henley finished with 9 kills.
McKenna Kaelber had 57 assits in the match.
Sarah Hopcroft had 34 digs.
Taelyr Krantz led the Saint with 14 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Lexie Gleasman had 10 kills and a .290 hitting percentage.
Montana Tech is home again on Saturday when they host Rocky Mountain at 6 p.m.
