BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech stopped the Montana Western rally in its tracks in the fifth set winning 25-23, 25-15, 17-25, 22-25, 15-7.
The Orediggers (4-4) rattled off seven straight points in the fifth set holding a 14-6 lead before finishing the Bulldogs (1-7).
Tech lacked efficiency in the third and fourth sets hitting .000, but finished hitting .118 in the match. The Orediggers led in kills 53-45.
The Bulldogs were aggressive at the net finishing with 18 blocks and the Orediggers posted 16 stops.
Taylor Henley had a career day leading the Orediggers with 14 kills and a .440 hitting percentage. Henley was in on 9 blocks and had one solo.
Maureen Jessop had 13 kills and
Karina Mickelson added 12.
Kiya Loobey had 9 kills.
Hannah Oggerino had 34 digs.
Kamaile Moodie had a career day with 48 assists.
Emmah Peterson led the Bulldogs with 11 kills. Abby Morgan had 9 kills.
Montana Tech hits the road next weekend when they travel to Carroll College.
