HELENA, Mont. – Montana Tech men's basketball fell just short of upsetting Carroll College in the Frontier Conference Tournament semifinal round 67-62.
The game was tightly contested the entire fast with 16 lead changes. The Saints took a 35-34 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Tech shot 46.2 percent from the field in the first half led by 11 points from
Sindou Diallo.
Cody Baumstarck shot 3-for-3 with 7 points and 6 rebounds.
The Saints shot 47.7 percent in the first half.
The Orediggers took a five point lead in the beginning of the second half, but the Saints took over with 9 minutes to go in the game and held out the rest of the contest. Markeith Brown Jr. hit a three to pull within tow with 21 seconds to play, but the Saints hit their free throws in the final seconds.
Diallo led all scorers with 18 points and Baumstarck finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Taylor England had 9 rebounds and 4 points.
Jovan Sljivancanin led the Saints with 15 points.
The Orediggers season comes to an end with an overall record of 13-11.
