Last Time
The Orediggers dropped both matches to Carroll College last weekend. The Saints topped the Orediggers 3-1 on Friday in the first of two tightly contested matches. The Orediggers won the second set. Karina Mickelson led the Orediggers with 15 kills hitting .188. Taylor Henley had 13 kills and just 1 error hitting for .462. Hannah Oggerino had 19 digs.
 
On Saturday, the Saints swept the Orediggers 3-0. The Orediggers held a lead in the first frame, but the Saints scored the last four points. The second set went into extra time but the Orediggers committed a two hitting errors. Maureen Jessop led Tech with 12 kills. Mickelson added 10 and Sydney Parks and Henley had 7 a piece.
 
Scouting the Battlin' Bears

The Battlin' Bears sit atop the conference standings with a 9-1 conference record. Rocky has won eight straight matches since losing their only match of the season to Providence in week 2.  Former student-athlete and NAIA All-American leads the team as the head coach in her second season.
 
Rocky leads the conference in digs, ranks second in kills, blocks, and assists.
 
Middle Weiying Wu leads the team in kills (111), kills per set (2.58), and hitting percentage (.268).  She ranks 5th in the conference in total kills and 2nd in hitting percentage. Senior Natalie Hilderman is second in the Frontier in assists per set (9.8) and total assists (423).
 
Against the Bears
The Orediggers opened the season in Billings against the Battlin' Bears. The Bears defeated the Orediggers in both matches 3-1. Both teams shook the rust off with neither team hitting over .200 in the two matches. Karina Mickelson led the Orediggers with 25 kills over the two matches. Maureen Jessop had 23 kills. Sydney Parks had 13 kills and 15 blocks. Outside hitter Monique Rodriguez had 28 kills for the Bears on the weekend.
 
Dealing Aces
The Orediggers are tied for first in total aces (57) and aces per set (1.5). Libero Hannah Oggerino is second in the conference in total aces with 12 on the season, just one behind the leader. The sophomore is third in the conference in aces per set averaging 0.3 on the season. Karina Mickelson ranks sixth in the Frontier with 11 and Maureen Jessop is 10th with 10.
 
Block Party
Montana Tech leads the conference and ranks fifth in the nation in blocks per set with a 2.7 average. Sydney Parks leads the team and the Frontier with 44 total blocks averaging 1.1 per set. Taylor Henley is creeping up the list and ranks 7th in the conference with 33 total blocks. Kiya Loobey and Karina Mickelson have 21 each and Maureen Jessop has 20.
 
Sophomore Skills
Taylor Henley continues to impress. The sophomore from Kalispell, Mont.  had 20 kills and 3 blocks against the Saints last weekend. Henley has double digit kills in three matches this season is averaging 1.8 kills per set and a .289 hitting percentage. She is averaging .9 blocks per set.
