BUTTE, Mont. – The No. 15 Montana Tech Orediggers took the first set, but No. 10 Providence ran away with last three to win the first Frontier Conference match of the season 25-23, 25-17, 25-20, 25-16.
The Orediggers (12-4, 0-1) came from five back in the first frame to take the set.
Tech finished with more kills 54-51, but committed 25 hitting errors to just 20 by Providence.
The Orediggers hit .175 in the match and the Argo completed .193.
Maureen Jessop had a season high 17 kills hitting .375.
Karina Mickelson had 14 kills hitting .231.
Olivia Muir had 11 kills.
Sydney Parks had 7 and
Taylor Henley added 5 kills form the middle.
McKenna Kaelber finished with 49 assists.
Sadie Lott led the Argos with 16 kills finishing with a .333 hitting percentage.
Jenna Thorne had 10 kills hitting for .212.
Montana Tech is on the road next week traveling to Carroll College on Wednesday.
