Men's Basketball Runs Through the Warriors 75-47

BUTTE, Mont. – No. 18 Montana Tech jumped on Lewis-Clark State College early holding the lead for the entire game coasting to a 75-47 victory.

The Orediggers (6-0) came out with tight defense and strong ball handling. The Warriors (3-2) went 1 of 8 from the field and had six turnovers as Tech built an 11-2 lead with 12:27 left in the first half. The Orediggers had four steals and committed no turnovers in that span.

The Warriors had 11 of their 19 turnovers in the first half and the Orediggers took advantage scoring 15 points. Tech committed only four turnovers in the first half and had eight of their 11 steals before the break.  

The Orediggers led by as many as 20 in the first half and went into the locker room with a 38-20 lead.

Caleb Bellach had all of his 10 points in the first half and Bridger Deden scored 10 finishing with 12 for the game.

Asa Williams was the hot Oredigger in second half scoring all 11 of his points after the break. Williams finished shooting 4 of 9 from the field and 2 for 4 from beyond the arc.

Keeley Bake led the Orediggers from deep going 3 for 4 from three finishing with 10 points. The Orediggers finished the game going 8 for 18 from three.

Hayden Diekens had a game-high 10 rebounds and finished with six point and three steals.

The Orediggers shot 51.72% from the field in the first half and finished the game shooting 44.%. Tech went 13 for 15 from the free throw line.

The Warriors finished the game shooting 35.7% from the field and went 3 for 22 from three-point range. None of the Warriors hit double-digit scoring.

Silas Bennion had eight points and seven rebounds for the Warriors. Anthony Peoples Jr. added eight from the bench.

Montana Tech takes on Dickinson State tomorrow in the final game of the Montana Tech Classic. Tip off is at 3 p.m.
