BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech fell to Rocky Mountain 59-42 in the Frontier Conference opener.
The Orediggers (2-5, 0-1) kept the contest close in the first half trailing 21-17 at the break.
Both team struggled finding their shot in the first half. Rocky went 7 for 37 from the field and the Orediggers hit 6 of 24. The Bears hit four three-points to give them the advantage.
The Bears separated the score in the third quarter outscoring the Orediggers 22-12.
The Orediggers finished shooting 32.1% from the field in the game and went 2 for 19 from beyond the arc.
Aubrie Rademacher led Tech with 13 points going 5 for 13 from the field. Rademacher finished with 5 rebounds.
Madison Allen had 7 points and
Soda Rice had 6.
Dani Urick and
Tavia Rooney had 7 rebounds each.
Gracee Lekvold had 14 points and Morgan Baird put in 13 from the bench.
Kloie Thatcher finished with 11 points going 3 for 9 from deep. Thatcher also had 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Montana Tech travels to No. 21 Montana Western Saturday for a 2 p.m. game.
