BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech earned a share of their first Frontier Conference regular season title since 1993 downing Montana State Northern 73-56.
The Orediggers are co-champions with Carroll College with both teams finishing the conference schedule with a 13-2 record. Tech finished a perfect 7-0 at home during conference action.
Tech blazed out of the gate finished the first half shooting 57.1% from the field and took a 36-27 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Orediggers finished shooting 50% on the night.
The Orediggers outrebounded the Lights 40-28.
Sindou Diallo led all scorers with 21 points. The senior finished with six rebounds and three assists.
Caleb Bellach had 11 points.
Taylor England finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
David Harris led the Lights with 18 points.
Montana Tech receive a first-round bye in the Frontier Conference Tournament. Tech will host the semifinal game next Friday on Kelvin Sampson Court.
