DILLON, Mont. – Montana Tech Women's Basketball team took control in the fourth quarter downing Montana Western 76-67 in the Frontier Conference Tournament quarter final game.
The Orediggers entered the final frame tied with the Bulldogs at 47. Tech used a 9-2 run to move ahead of Western and held the lead down the stretch.
Brooke Heggie had a huge night finishing with a double-double. The senior forward had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Heggie shot 8 of 11 from the field and 4 for 4 from the free throw line.
The Orediggers finished shooting 52% from the field and knocked down 20 of 22 from the free throw line.
Tavia Rooney had 16 points and nine rebounds.
Dani Urick had 11 points and
Ally Cleverly finished with 10.
Shainey Mack had 18 points and Brynley Fitzgerald finished with 17.
The Orediggers move on to the semifinal round Saturday night against Rocky Mountain.
