DILLON, Mont. – Montana Tech Women's Basketball used a big fourth quarter to overtake RV Montana Western 68-56.
The Orediggers (12-14, 3-8) snapped their four-game losing streak.
Tech was down 34-30 at the break but moved ahead of the Western in the third quarter. The Orediggers outscored the Bulldogs 23-13 in the final frame.
The Orediggers shot 37% from the field. The team hit 9 of 20 from deep and 19 of 24 from the free throw line.
Tavia Rooney led all scorers with 20 points going 2 for 4 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 8 of 8 from the charity stripe. Rooney also had eight rebounds and three blocks.
Mollie Peoples 3 for 5 from deep finishing with 14 points.
Dani Urick had 10 points and five boards.
Brynley Fitzgerald led the Bulldogs with 19 points and six rebounds.
Montana Tech travels to Billings to face No. 18 Rocky Mountain Saturday afternoon.
