GRAND RAPIDS, Mich- The Montana Tech men's cross country team finished 7
th at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge XC Invitational.
In an incredibly talented field #17 Montana Tech finished higher than any Frontier program in attendance with 269 points, edging out Rocky Mountain who finished in 8
th, and Carroll College who finished 11
th. There were a total of 27 teams in attendance, with 243 individual runners on the men's side.
The team trophy was taken by #1 ranked Indiana Wesleyan, who finished with a total of 40 points, placing four runners in the top 10.
The Orediggers were paced by
Justin Morgan who finished 13
th overall, finishing the 8Km course in a time of 25:07.40.
Edwin Kipainoi crossed in 16
th place overall, with a time of 25:10.70. Benjamin Zerr crossed in 26
th,
Derek Schultz crossed in 129
th, and
Aidan Vlasaty crossed in 131
st.
The Individual victory went to Jackson Wilson from Rocky Mountain College. Second place was grabbed by Serhiy Shevchenro from Cumberlands College, and 3
rd through 5
th places were held by runners from Indiana Wesleyan.
