HELENA, Mont. – The Orediggers of Montana Tech are back in the win column with a 3-1 win at Carroll College on Friday night. (25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23).
The Orediggers finished the match hitting .210 with 50 total kills.
Maureen Jessop led the way with 13 total kills,
Taylor Henley stacked up 12, and
Alexis Umland also got into double digits with 10 kills. Freshman
Rhys Layton continued her strong play as she led Tech with 42 assists, as well as 18 digs.
Sidney Gulick led Carroll College with 18 kills in the match. After the first half of the Frontier Conference season, the Saints are 0-5, and 5-16 overall.
At the midway point of Frontier Conference play, Oredigger
Olivia Muir is tied for the conference lead with 3.31 kills per set, and teammate
Maureen Jessop is No. 3 at 3.29. Muir is also No. 5 in hitting percentage at .262.
Defensively Senior
Taylor Henley in fifth in blocks per set at 0.91.
Rhys Layton is No. 2 in assists per set at 6.87, and Kinidi Willmore leads the conference with .44 service aces per set.
Montana Tech, (15-3, 4-1 Conference) is 4-1 in Frontier play and tied for first place with the University of Providence. The Orediggers are on the road to Bellvue, Nebraska next weekend (October 13
th, and 14
th) where they have matches scheduled against Grand View University, (#15) Bellvue University, and Dakota State University.
