LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State Warriors built an early lead and kept Montana Tech women's basketball team at bay winning 65-51.
The Warriors scored 30 in the first quarter and held on to a 40-30 lead at halftime. The Warriors hit 6 of 10 three pointers in the first quarter.
After halftime, the Warriors put up 20 more to lead 60-36 at the end of the third.
The Orediggers shot 30-percent from the field and made just 4 of their 16 three point attempts.
Tech was outrebounded 44-34.
Kia Wasson led the Orediggers with 13 points off the bench. Wasson shot 3 for 5 from long and 5 for 8 from the field.
Soda Rice had nine points.
Challis Westwater grabbed seven rebounds and finished with eight points.
Ellie Sander led the Warriors with 16 points hitting 3 of 6 from long. Maddie Holm had eight rebounds and 10 points.
Payton Hymas had 11 points coming off the bench.
Montana Tech head to Walla Walla tomorrow night to face the Wolves at 1 p.m.
