GREAT FALLS, Mont.- Day one of the Argo Invitational is in the books, and the Oredigger men and women currently sit in second place.
On the women's side Rocky Mountain College shot a day one team score of 302 (+14 to par), the Orediggers find themselves 22 shots back with a score of 324. Carroll College is third with a 349, and the University of Providence wrapped up the opening 18 holes with a team score of 398.
Individually, Rocky golfers went 1-4. Valentina Zuleta shot a +1 73, Kadence Fischer a 74, Grace Metcalf a 77, and Tyla Potgeiter finished with a 78.
Tying Potgeiter for 4
th place with a 78 is Montana Tech's
Kodie Hoagland. Kodie started on fire, going out with a 34 on the front 9.
The Orediggers ladies all are in the top 10 after the first round.
Franchi Ceartin was next for the Diggs with a +9, 81 good for 7
th,
Cierra Sundheim sits in 8
th with an 82,
Emma Woods carded an 83, and Sami Benson matched Emma with an 83 as well, good for 10
th.
"Our ladies played really well; we had a couple of hiccups but were able to turn in a solid team score in windy conditions. They really grinded it out. Our scores were consistent so that's a nice thing to see." Montana Tech gold coach

On the men's side Rocky Mountain College controlled the top five individual spots. Oredigger
Gabe Witham is sitting pretty in 7
th place after carding a two-round total of 153 (+9).
Joe Opitz and
Tyler Avery are tied for 10
th place with matching 156's (+12).
Joe McGreevey fired a 159 good for 14th, and
Jhett Braley carded a 164 which ties him for 16
th.
"Our men played pretty solid the first round, but we didn't have it going in the afternoon battling the wind. I think fatigue set in a bit on both the physical and mental side. It was a grind today."
