NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Montana Tech's track & field program piled up academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced this week.
Both the Orediggers' men's and women's teams landed on the USTFCCCA's NAIA All-Academic Team honor rolls, and 11 student-athletes garnered the All-Academic Athlete designation.
Montana Tech's women's team sported a 3.45 grade-point average in the 2025-26 academic year, while the men carried a 3.07, both meeting the threshold of 3.0 to earn the All-Academic status.
Eight Oredigger women — graduate student Abby Clark, seniors Kamryn Comba and Jadyn Vermillion, junior Tyra Opperman, sophomore Ayla Janzen, and freshmen Amy Broek, Mya Green, and Brityn Stewart — and three men — senior Morgan McClernan, junior Nicolò Lancini, and sophomore Matthew Moreni — landed on the All-Academic individual honor roll.
Student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.25 GPA and have reached an NAIA 'A' or 'B' qualifying standard in at least one event to qualify.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations.
