The Montana Tech men's and women's track teams traveled south to tough competition at Stacy Dragila Open on the campus of Idaho State. The Orediggers competed well in the meet comprised mostly of NCAA Division I schools.
Leading the way for the Oredigger women were returning All-Americans
Abby Clark and
Carlin Manning. Clark finished 2nd in the high jump while Manning placed 3rd in the 3000-meter run. Both were the top NAIA finishers in their respective events.
Sophomore
Jadyn Vermillion also excelled placing second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. Vermillion's leap of 5.59 meters surpassed the NAIA national B standard in the long jump, qualifying her for the NAIA National Indoor Championships to be held in Brookings, S.D. starting on February 29
th.
Junior Braden Anderson also punched his ticket to the National Championships with his throw of 15.35 meters in the men's shot put - good for 6
th place overall – highlighting a strong overall performance by the Oredigger men.
The men's long jump placed two Orediggers in the top six with
Drake Schlachter leaping to 3
nd place while Will Sanguins finished 6
th. Schlachter also finished 5
th in the 60-meter sprint as the lone NAIA representative in the finals.
Freshman Cameron Tobiness finished 3
rd in the triple jump and also recorded a top ten finish in the pole vault.

The Orediggers will be back in action at the Bobcat Performance Open scheduled for February 9
th at Montana State University
