HELENA, Mont.- The 2024 Carroll Invitational has wrapped up with the Oredigger men and women both finishing in second place.
On the women's side, the Orediggers started Tuesday in third place (310), five strokes back of Rocky Mountain College, and a single-stroke behind Carroll College in second. The ladies fired a new school record round of 306, for a 2-day total of 616 to take over second place from Carroll College, five strokes back of Rocky in first.
Four of the Five members of the Oredigger 'scoring' team improved on their first round.
Kodie Hoagland and Sami Benson each carded a 75 in round two.
Emma Woods followed a first-round 77 with a second-round 76,
Franchi Ceartin and Casha Corda both shot 80 in the second round.
Kodie Hoagland and Sami Benson tied for sixth place, with E. Woods right behind in eighth. Casha would land in the top 20 at #12, with
Franchi Ceartin in 15
th at +19.
Laila Jalil from Providence won the individual championship with a two-day 146, hitting back-to-back 73s.
The Rocky men won the team title with a three-round total of 833, the Orediggers finished at 861, and Carroll was back in third at 904.
Joe McGreevey would fire a third-round 69 to finish at 212 (-4), that score was good for a third-place tie with his teammate
Gabe Witham who scorched the course in his third round, carding the low round of the day at 65.
Tyler Avery landed in 7
th place overall after finishing at even par.
Joe Opitz finished the tournament at +2, good for a 9
th place tie.
Carson Hupka rounds out the team, finishing at +3, which was good for 11
th place.
The men's individual champion was Kristjan Burkelca from Rocky, who carded an -11 for the 54-hole tournament.
