BILLINGS, Mont. -- Montana Tech's men's cross country team ran to a third-place finish Wednesday afternoon at the Frontier Conference championships.
The Oredigger men collected 92 points on the 8k course at Amend Park in Billings.
Ben Zerr highlighted the Diggers' performance, finishing fourth in 25:18.1.
Derek Schultz (10th),
Bryon Fanning (21st),
Hayden Hollow (39th), and
Konnor Gregerson (42nd) rounded out the scoring for Montana Tech.
It was the Oredigger men's fourth-consecutive top-three finish at the conference championship meet.
Zerr, a junior from Kailua, Hawaii, earned all-conference honors for his championship effort. Fanning represented the Orediggers on the league's Champions of Character sportsmanship honor roll.
Carroll College edged Rocky Mountain by a single point to win the team title and the Frontier's automatic qualifier to the NAIA championship meet. The Saints' Zack Gacnik won medalist honors.
Montana Tech will await the announcement of the full national championship field, which the NAIA will announce at 4 p.m. Monday.
