POCATELLO, Idaho -- Montana Tech's men's cross country team raced to a third-place team finish Friday at Idaho State's Bengal Invitational, led by top-25 finishes from
Justin Morgan and
Ben Zerr.
Morgan, a graduate student, claimed 13th after covering the 8-kilometer Idaho State Cross Country Course in 25:44.3, while Zerr, a senior, finished a spot after in 25:52.1. The pair were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the team scoring due to unattached runners in the field.
Freshman
Noah Miller ran to 28th (26:53.6), sophomore
Bryon Fanning was 31st (27:07.4), and freshman
Michael Marlow finished 39th (27:35.3) to round out the scoring five for the Orediggers.
Freshmen
Layne Niemeyer (42nd, 27:59.4),
Tyler Inabnit (45th, 28:24.4), and
Jacob Piapot (51st, 29:08.1) also competed for Tech, while fellow freshmen
Trenton Smith (52nd, 29:17.5) and
Matthew Tobiason (69th, 35:06.3) competed unattached.
Montana Tech's men will continue the 2025 season with a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Friday, October 24.
