BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech women's basketball team hung on through three quarters with No. 5 Carroll College. In the final frame, the Saints pulled away winning 61-48.
The Orediggers (10-11, 1-7) trailed by four after the first quarter and 35-33 at the break. Tech shot 52.2% from the field and made 3 of 5 from three-point range.
The second half slide started at the end of the third quarter and the Orediggers couldn't pull up.
The Orediggers went 4 for 12 in the third quarter and 0 for 14 in the fourth scoring on three free throws.
Brooklynn Hankwitz went 2 for 2 from deep with 8 of her 12 points coming in the first half.
Aubrie Rademacher had 12 points and 4 rebounds.
Liv Wangerin led the team with 7 rebounds.
Chloe Santeford had 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.
The Saints took advantage of 12 turnovers by the Orediggers. The Saints finished with 13 points of the turnovers and had 14 second chance points.
Maddie Geritz led the team in points scoring 18 while shooting 2 for 4 from beyond the arc.
Jaimie Pickens scored 12 points and 13 rebounds. Willa Albrecht had 12 points and 8 rebounds. The Pair combined for over half of the team's rebounds.
Montana Tech is in Dillon this weekend taking on the Montana Western Bulldogs Saturday.
