KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Montana Tech's football team will begin its quest for the 2025 NAIA national championship at home.

The NAIA's selection committee dubbed the Orediggers as the No. 3 seed in the NAIA Football Championship Series, the national office announced Sunday evening. It's Montana Tech's highest-ever playoff seeding.

Montana Tech earned a first-round bye and will play host to a to-be-determined opponent Saturday, November 29 in Butte. The NAIA will announce the second-round matchups following the completion of Saturday's opening games.

The Orediggers sport a perfect 11-0 record headed into postseason play and hold the top ranking in the NAIA's Football Performance Indicator. Tech is ranked fourth in the Massey Ratings and the Netting Professionals NAIA coaches' top 25.

Montana Tech earned the automatic playoff bid by means of its Frontier Conference East Division championship. It's the third-straight year the Orediggers will compete in the playoffs and the 12th time in program history. Tech was the NAIA runner-up in 1996.

Fort Worth, Texas' Crowley ISD Stadium will play host to the 70th Annual NAIA National Championship on Saturday, December 20.

Montana Tech is 5-10 all-time in NAIA championship series history. The Orediggers have a 4-2 record at home in those games.

Montana Tech athletics will announce information on scheduling, tickets, and fan experience for the November 29 NAIA second-round playoff game as it becomes available.
