Box Score COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. -- Halle Haber accomplished her first-career double-double,
Liv Wangerin and
Kameryn Ketcham both scored in double figures, and the Montana Tech women's basketball team extended its season-opening win streak with an 84-43 win at Walla Walla Thursday night.
Haber totaled 24 points and 10 rebounds, both team-highs, in the Orediggers' blowout victory.
Wangerin added 13 points for Montana Tech (3-0), and Ketcham chipped in 10 points off the bench.
The Orediggers stormed out to a 13-3 lead with a run to start the game, and Montana Tech never looked back.
Hadley Humpherys scored seven of her nine points in the first quarter.
The second turned into the Haber show. The sophomore from Billings scored nine points in those 10 minutes, going 4-for-5 from the field including a 3-pointer. Tech led 50-23 at the half.
Haber added 10 more points to her tally in the third as Montana Tech ran away with the game.
The Oredigger defense was stifling, holding Walla Walla to under 30 percent from the field in the game.
Montana Tech will stay on the road to face NCAA Division III member Whitworth in Spokane, Wash. Saturday at 4 p.m. Mountain, 3 p.m. Pacific.
