Montana Tech Athletics

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Four Montana Tech volleyball players garnered Academic All-District honors, presented by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.

Graduate student Abby Clark, seniors Malia Harris and Kinnidi Willmore, and sophomore Austin Long carried the award for the Orediggers.

Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5, must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and must have participated in at least 90 percent of their team's matches during the current season.

Clark, a middle/right side hitter from Fort Benton, capped off her Oredigger volleyball career with career-highs in kills, blocks, and attack percentage. An honorable mention All-Frontier Conference selection, Clark set the Orediggers' single-match record for attack percentage, hitting .800 with 13 kills in a November 1 win over Carroll. A two-sport star, Clark was Montana Tech's first-ever CSC Academic All-America honoree in women's track & field this past spring. She graduated in May with a degree in materials science and engineering (with a 3.9 GPA) and is currently pursuing a master's in metallurgical and materials engineering.

Harris, a defensive specialist from Anaconda, ranked second on the team with a .954 serve-receive percentage and added 87 digs and 15 aces to her line. Harris carries a 3.92 GPA in her chemistry major with a concentration in biochemistry.

Long, a defensive specialist from Billings, enjoyed a fantastic sophomore season with 199 digs, 38 aces, and 21 assists as a keystone on the Orediggers' back row. She reached double-digit digs in eight matches. The sophomore holds a perfect 4.0 GPA and is majoring in exercise and health science.

Willmore, an outside hitter from Claremont, Calif., earned a second-straight first-team all-conference nod after topping 1,000 kills for her career. She totaled 326 kills on the season with a career-best hitting percentage of .237. Willmore also contributed 68 digs and 38 blocks to the Orediggers' effort. A 2024 CSC Academic All-District honoree, Willmore carries a 3.66 GPA in the exercise and health science program.

Montana Tech's volleyball team finished the 2025 campaign with a 17-13 record and reached the semifinals of the Frontier Conference tournament.

A College Sports Communicators committee reviews the nominations for Academic All-District student-athletes to determine which will be moved onto the Academic All-America ballot. Willmore represents Montana Tech on the national ballot this season.

The Academic All-District women's volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

CSC's Academic All-America honorees will be announced January 13, 2026.

The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
