BUTTE, Mont. -- The Montana Tech women's basketball team fell in its regular-season finale, 67-59, to No. 25-ranked Providence on Kelvin Sampson Court.

Montana Tech celebrated Senior Day shortly following the conclusion of the game, honoring four members of the program — Brooklynn Hankwitz, Macy Mayer, Aubrie Rademacher, and Kia Wasson — who will graduate this spring.

In the game, Hadley Humphreys highlighted the Orediggers' stat line. The junior posted a team-best 15 points to go with five rebounds and three steals. Rademacher added 12 points and seven rebounds for Montana Tech (18-10, 9-6 Frontier), and Wasson tacked on 10 points off the bench.

Montana Tech fell behind in the early going, withstanding an 11-5 run through most of the first quarter. Tech began to close the gap in the second thanks to a Humphreys jumper that opened up the period. The Orediggers rallied for a 14-3 run to end the first half, trimming the UP lead to 25-24 by the break.

Tech finally took the lead, 34-33, on Avery Carlson's 3-pointer with 5:38 remaining in the third to force a Providence timeout.

Most of the game from that point became a dogfight. The teams traded the lead eight times in the second half, but the Argos took control with a 7-0 fourth-quarter barrage. Tech cut the lead to a single possession following Wasson's 3 with 2:06 remaining, but clutch play from Providence (20-7, 10-5) down the stretch locked up the win.

Keanna Salave'a led the Argos with 16 points, and Ashlee Maldonado and Monique Carter tacked on 15 apiece

Montana Tech's 9-6 Frontier Conference record marked the Orediggers' first winning season in conference play since the 2012-13 campaign and eclipsed Tech's combined conference win total for the past two seasons.

The Orediggers will carry the No. 4 seed into the upcoming Frontier tournament, set for March 2-4 at the Pacific Steel & Recycling Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls. Tech will take on No. 5-seeded MSU-Northern at 1 p.m. next Sunday in the opening round of the bracket.
