GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Cade VanVleet's third throw made the difference.
The Montana Tech junior tossed the shot a program-record 17.14 meters at an opportune time, landing second place in the men's shot put on the final day of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Indoor National Championships at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center.
VanVleet's honor is the highest for any Montana Tech track & field man at a national championship meet and his second-career All-America accolade. He also earned the honor at 2024 outdoor nationals.
The Noxon native is Tech's second indoor All-American, joining
Nicolo Lancini, who earned it in the triple jump a season ago.
VanVleet and the rest of the Orediggers will now prepare for outdoor season. The Montana Tech outdoor schedule will be announced next week.
