MADISON, S.D. -- Talan Dodson and
Kinnidi Willmore spiked 10 kills each, but the No. 19-ranked Montana Tech volleyball team dropped a 25-23, 25-26, 25-19 decision at Dakota State Saturday afternoon.
Ellie Reinertson and
Rhys Layton made 16 assists each for the Orediggers (9-4. 5-2 Frontier Conference), and
Emmy Green pulled out a team-best 16 digs.
Tech played to an early lead in the first set, but Dakota State finished the set on a 5-0 run to steal the opener. The Trojans (9-3, 5-2) took the next two to complete the sweep.
Sophie Tuttle led Dakota State with 16 kills, while Kate VanRooyan made a match-best 21 digs.
Montana Tech will hit the road again in Frontier Conference play Thursday with a trip to Carroll College.
