MOSCOW, Idaho -- Montana Tech's track & field teams opened up their stays at University of Idaho's Lauren McCluskey Memorial Saturday with a few ticks up the NAIA's indoor season leaderboard.
Graduate student
Abby Clark began the climb in the women's high jump, clearing 1.65 meters to take second place in the event and move to 10th on the national leaderboard. Her mark was just .01 meters off the NAIA's 'B' qualifying standard and just off her own program record in the event.
Freshman
Ricky Williams also had a banner day in the men's high jump. The Noxon product cleared 2.0m to take over 18th on the NAIA leaderboard and move to third on Montana Tech's all-time record board.
Junior
Keagan Pallister also had a great day jumping, topping 4.30m in the men's pole vault. That leap put Pallister 45th in the NAIA and matched his own second-place mark in the program record book.
A troupe of the Orediggers also excelled in the 200m dashes, led by
Matthew Moreni's 22.03-second sprint on the men's side – good enough for fifth – and
Jadyn Vermillion's 26.27-second run in the women's race, putting her 16th.
Montana Tech's track & field teams will continue the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Saturday in Moscow.
