BUTTE -- Montana Tech's football team opens the 2026 season Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. against Ottawa (Ariz.) in the annual Copper Game, presented by Rocky Mountain Credit Union.
The reigning Frontier Conference East Division champions enter the year ranked No. 5 in the NAIA's preseason coaches' top 25 poll. Ottawa (Ariz.) received votes in the poll and finished last season with an 8-1 record.

Tailgate
The tailgate in the SSC parking lot opens at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tailgate passes are available for season ticket-holders to purchase through GoDiggers.com/tickets.
No outside food or drink will be permitted from the tailgate into the stadium. Trash cans will be provided at both entrances for fans to dispose of food and drink waste.
NOTE: Digger Drive will be closed on game day. Tailgaters should follow Park Street to its western end, turn south around the HPER Complex and South HPER field, and access from the south side of the SSC lot.
Parking
Montana Tech offers both paid and free parking for fans on game day. Spots on South HPER field will be available for $20 beginning at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Tailgating IS PERMITTED in this area, but all vehicles must be moved from the lot by 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
Free parking is available in the Tiers lots near the southeast gate and the Library lot on the south side of the stadium. Both are accessed via Park Street.

Clear Bag Policy
Montana Tech athletics is instituting a clear bag policy for the 2026 football season.
North End Zone/Beer Garden
Alcohol sales will be provided in the beer garden in the north end zone for fans of legal age (21+). Alcohol may not be carried out of the north end zone into stadium seating.
