MISSOULA -- The Montana Tech cross country teams continued their strong start to the season Friday at the Montana Invite. 

The Oredigger women logged a seventh-place finish, while the men took home eighth. 

Mya Green led the way for the Montana Tech women. The sophomore finished 27th in the 6-kilometer race at the University of Montana Golf Course, crossing the line in 19:41.5. 

Freshmen Paige Braseth and Bria Ohs also logged top-65 finishes, wrapping up in 54th and 63rd, respectively. Sophomores Amy Broek and Kendra Jensen rounded out Tech's scoring five in 68th and 69th. 

The Oredigger women were the second-fastest NAIA team in the 13-program field. Montana State won the women's title with 24 points. 

For the Montana Tech men, redshirt freshman Tyler Inabnit set the place. The Missoula native took 26th with an 8-kilometer time of 25:51.5. 

Junior Bryon Fanning came across next for the Orediggers, finishing 53rd in 27:13.8. Sophomore Layne Niemeyer (58th), senior Derek Schultz (60th), and freshman Evan Aadland (62nd) polished off the scoring for Tech. 

The Orediggers will return to action Thursday at the Butte Invitational at Highland View Golf Course.
