BUTTE -- Jarrett Wilson tossed four touchdown passes, Jamal Cariglia ran for three more scores, and the third-ranked Montana Tech football team continued its winning ways Saturday with a 58-10 drubbing of Southern Oregon on Bob Green Field. 

Wilson, the Orediggers' junior quarterback, passed for a season-best 295 yards. He found three different receivers — Levi Torgerson twice and Nick Michelotti and Colby Martinez each once — in the end zone. Torgerson racked up 146 yards on a season-high 11 receptions. 

Montana Tech's ground game was just as effective. Cariglia rushed 11 times for 67 yards and his three touchdowns, while backup quarterback Merek Mihelish continued his efficient work with the legs, running for a team-best 73 yards on just six carries. 

Meanwhile, the Oredigger defense continued its dominant start to the 2026 campaign. Defensive lineman Trevor Miller had three tackles, including 1.5 sacks, Max Hannum intercepted a pass, and River Wasson broke up four Raider passes. 

Montana Tech (4-0) began the game as it has most of the season — with a clock-eating scoring drive. Wilson connected with Torgerson four times on the opening possession, accounting for 49 yards, and Cariglia did the rest. The senior had four carries in the drive, including an eight-yard scoring run that put Tech ahead at the 8:12 mark in the first. 

Southern Oregon (1-2) fumbled the ensuing kickoff, and Dylan Almquist leapt on the loose ball to set the Orediggers up with prime field position at the SOU 32-yard-line. 

It took Montana Tech just three plays to find pay dirt again. Wilson hooked up with Michelotti for a 31-yard gain to set up first and goal, and Cariglia plunged into the end zone again two plays later. Casey Kautzman's PAT made it 14-0 Orediggers in the first. 

The Raiders drove down the field to set up a field goal on their next possession, making it a 14-3 Oredigger advantage at the first quarter's conclusion. 

Then the Tech offense was back at it. Wilson presided over a six-play, 69-yard drive to put the Orediggers back in the end zone, this time on a two-yard completion from the quarterback to Michelotti. 

After the defense forced a three-and-out, it was the Wilson to Torgerson connection again that broke the game wide open. Wilson found the All-America receiver for a 54-yard TD completion that made it 28-3 in the home team's favor. 

Montana Tech scored twice more before the halftime horn, a Wilson-to-Martinez 38-yard strike and a one-yard completion to Torgerson, to hold a commanding 41-10 lead midway through. It was Martinez's first collegiate touchdown reception. 

The Orediggers continued to pour it on after halftime. Cariglia broke a 31-yard touchdown run to start the third-quarter scoring, and Gunnar Peterson added a 19-yard TD scamper to the tally. Kautzman finished Tech's outburst with a 30-yard field goal. 

Tech's 604 yards of total offense were a season-best, and the Orediggers dominated time of possession, keeping the ball for 43 of the game's 60 minutes. 

The Orediggers have outscored opponents 164-31 through four games this season. 

Montana Tech will hit the road next Saturday for a top-five showdown at No. 4 The College of Idaho.
