Alex Garcia

Alex Garcia joined the Orediggers in 2014 and enters his fourth year as the Defensive Line Coach. 

Garcia has produced six All-Conference selections in four seasons including three-time first team honoree Tyler Sanders. Defensive end Luke Benz led the Frontier Conference in sacks in 2016.

Prior to joining Montana Tech, Garcia spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at Midland University in Nebraska coaching the defensive line.  Under his guidance he developed two All-Conference selections and assisted with the strength and condition program.

Prior to Midland, Garcia was the outside linebacker coach at NCAA DIII Elmhurst College for two years. The 2012 team finished 10-2, won the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. They finished with a No. 8 ranking in the country.

Garcia is a native of Lombard, Ill. a suburb just outside Chicago.  Garcia graduated from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill. where he played both offensive line and defensive line.   He graduated in 2011 with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Educational Studies.
