Kevin is starting his first season at Montana Tech.
Prior to joining Montana Tech, Sutherland spent the 2014 season as the Defensive Backs coach at Shasta College in Redding, CA. During his one season with the Knights, he helped transform the secondary into one of the nation's best units. The Knights secondary finished with 26 interceptions on the season, finishing third in the nation. Along with tallying 13 more interceptions than the previous year, Shasta's secondary finished holding opponents to just 190 yards passing per game. They also returned seven of their interceptions for touchdowns. Sutherland coached two All-Conference selections and helped lead Shasta to their first bowl appearance since 2008.
Prior to Shasta College, Sutherland spent the 2014 offseason coaching Defensive Backs and implementing strength and speed training at South Eugene High in Eugene, OR.
Sutherland spent the 2013 season as the Defensive Backs coach for Sentinel High School in Missoula, MT. He helped lead the Spartans to their first playoff appearance in four years.
Sutherland is a native of Burney, CA located in Northern California. Sutherland attended Shasta College, where he played running back for two seasons.
