Lance Spencer is in his first season as the defensive line coach for the Orediggers.

A native of Malta, MT, Coach Spencer played his collegiate career at The University of Montana. As a four year starter at defensive end he finished with 152 tackles, 22 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. While on the football team UM finished at FCS national championship in 2001 and earned runner-up honors in 2004. He was a recipient of the Pat Norwood award and was voted team captain for UM his senior year. He earned 2nd Team All Big Sky Conference defensive end in 2004 & 2005 and honorable mention in 2003.

Spencer earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Montana in 2006 in Biology. He is currently finishing up a degree in Environmental Engineering at Tech. Lance and his wife Wendy have lived in Butte for a year.
