McFarland enters his first year as assistant defensive backs coach for the Orediggers after a year coaching at Dakota State University (S.D.). McFarland is a graduate of Chadron State College (Neb.) where he played mostly defensive back during his time with the Eagles.

He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with endorsements in History, Social Science, and Coaching.

McFarland has also been a volunteer coach for high schools in his hometown of Boise, Idaho and for Corona del Sol High School in Chandler, Arizona.
