2024 Honorable Mention All-Frontier Conference

2024: Emerged as one of the best defensive backs in the Frontier Conference, playing in all 11 games ... Ranked second on the team with four interceptions ... Made 66 tackles, including two for a loss ... Made eight tackles and intercepted a pass in a Nov. 16 win over Carroll ... Tackled a season-high nine ball-carriers Nov. 30 vs. Northwestern (Iowa) in the NAIA second round.

2023: Played in 9 games in 2023. Payton made a big impact in the Oredigger secondary in 2023, registering 49 total tackles, 4 pass breakups, 1 interception, 1 sack, and 1 blocked kick. He had a season high 11 tackles on October 21 at Rocky Mountain College. 

2022: Played in 1 game in 2022, vs. Southern Oregon registering 1 solo tackle.

High School: Played prep for head coach Mark Samson at Great Falls HS. Selected first team all-conference and second team all-state safety. Chosen to play in the East-West Shrine Game. Finished in sixth place at 2020 state wrestling tournament.
 
Personal: Payton, son of Amber and Grant, plans on pursuing a degree in business.
