Chris Stetzner is entering his third year with the Oredigger Basketball program and first as the Associate Head Coach.
Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Health Sciences with a concentration in Coaching Studies from American Military University (AMU/APU). Chris is currently working toward his Masters in Sports Management and is employed with Montana Tech as an Educational Talent Search Coordinator (ETS) now renamed Institute for Educational Opportunities for the Technical Outreach program. This exceptional program reaches four public schools that are located in nearby Deer Lodge county and the city of Anaconda.
His duty as an (ETS) coordinator identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. Projects that are provided are tutorial services, career exploration, aptitude assessments, counseling, mentoring programs, workshops, information on postsecondary institutions; and education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students.
Chris began his coaching career at the men’s level with the U. S. Air Force teams that included United States Air Force Europe (USAFE) for 3 years and then moved into the U.S. region coaching at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho for an additional 7 years compiling a 112-38 record. After leaving the military, Chris once again stepped into the coaching arena at Anaconda High School for 5 additional years with a 66-34 record. Chris is no stranger to the game with having over 15 years of coaching, playing, and officiating experience.
Chris is married to his beautiful wife Wendy of 17 years and they have four wonderful children, Timothy, Collin, Kadin, and Logan. They are both from Anaconda, and his wife is a 2004 graduate of Montana Tech.
