Carly Sanon begins her eighth season at the helm of the Montana Tech women’s basketball program this fall.
Sanon has a 82-119 career record as the head coach at Montana Tech. Last season, the Orediggers finished with a 5-14 overall record and 5-13 in conference action. The Orediggers lost a number of close contests, but was able to receive a number of individual accolades.
Senior Mesa Williams was selected second team all-conference for the third time. Williams finished with 1,231 points for her career as an Oredigger. Junior Dani Urick was selected all-conference honorable mention.
The women's basketball team was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Team and continually leads the Frontier Conference in Academic All-Conference honors. The Orediggers had 12 student-athletes on the conference honor roll to lead the league last season. The Orediggers were in the Top 25 of the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Team Honor Roll with a season GPA of 3.499.
Sanon was hired as the Head Coach of the Montana Tech Women’s Basketball Program in April of 2014. Originally from Chester, Montana, Sanon graduated from Carroll with a degree in Health Education and was a three year starter for the Saints.
Sanon lives in Butte with her husband Ricardo.
