Strange, originally from Fountain, Colo. near Colorado Springs, played collegiately at Northern Colorado from 2011-15. The 5-foot-10 guard was a major contributor since her freshman year for the Bears. She was named Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and received a conference honorable mention nod leading her team with 6.5 rebounds and averaging 11.2 points a game.
In her career, Strange was selected Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year twice in addition to three first team All-Conference selections and Co-Big Sky MVP her senior year. She also earned Player of the Week honors 13 different times. In 2015, she was named the Colorado Sportswoman of the Year.
During her senior season, Strange set the all-time scoring (1,891) and rebound (1,039) marks for the Bears. She also set the single season record for steals (104) and rebounds (314) that year.
Strange earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree with an emphasis in Sport Administration. She was named Academic All-Conference twice during her playing career.Â
After her collegiate career, she played professional basketball in Europe making stops in Hungary and Germany. She also represented the United State in an international tournament in China.
