Lexie Nelson returns home as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Montana Tech. Nelson will be working with the point guards as well as coordinating strength and conditioning for the Orediggers.
Nelson spent the past three years at Eastern Washington University where she led the Eagles to two WNIT appearances. Nelson started 95 games for the Eagles scoring 1,388 points and averaging 14.6 points per contest. Nelson is a three-time All-Big Sky honoree and was named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team three straight seasons.
Nelson graduated for Butte High School as the all-time leading scorer in Bulldogs history. Nelson was named the 2010 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year and the 2010 Miss Basketball Montana. She led the Bulldogs to back-to-back runner-up finishes in Class AA Montana State Championships in 2009 and 2010. Nelson was a four-time Class AA All-State selection and four-time All-Conference honoree.
Nelson graduated from EWU with a degree in Exercise Science in 2015.
