Junior Dan Simon is the Athlete of the Week for men’s basketball. Transferring from Bellevue College in Washington this past year, Simon is playing forward in his first season with the Orediggers. Last week, Tech played in two road contests. At Lewiston, Idaho, the Orediggers lost a close game in overtime to the Lewis-Clark State Warriors 69-73. On Saturday in Salt Lake City, Tech fell to the Westminster Griffins 61-70.
Against Lewis-Clark State, Simon netted 10 on the night. He also grabbed four rebounds and four assists.
At Westminster, Simon was the leading scorer for the Orediggers with 18 points. He also had three rebounds and an assist.
For the weekend, Simon averaged 14 PPG, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
