Five players from Montana Tech and five from Montana Western were named to the 2011 All-Frontier Conference football team, which was released to the media Wednesday.
Carroll College junior running back Chance Demarais was named offensive MVP, while MSU-Northern senior defensive end Will Andrews took home top defensive honors.
Mike Van Diest, who directed Carroll College to its 12th straight Frontier Conference championship, was named Coach of the Year.
Freshman running back Pat Hansen, junior receiver Trent Thomas, senior defensive lineman Marcus Johnson, senior linebacker Connor O'Neill and junior safety Nathan Kobold all earned second-team honors from Montana Tech.
Thomas is the only Oredigger to be honored by the league twice. He was an all-conference punt returner a year ago.
For Western, senior defensive lineman Peni Tuifua, senior punter Deryk Van Zee and junior kicker Yim Sribenjakul all took home first-team honors.
Senior offensive lineman Justin Cossey and sophomore linebacker Kasey Griffith earned second-team honors for the Bulldogs.
Conference champion Carroll College placed 13 members on the team. Six Saints took home first-team honors, including Butte senior receiver Matt Ritter.
Third-place MSU-Northern placed a league-high 14 players on the team, including nine first-team selections.
Fourth-place Rocky Mountain saw 11 players named to the team, while
second-place Eastern Oregon received nine mentions.
