Northwest University Drops Lady Diggers

Box Score Kirkland, WA – Northwest University downed the Lady Diggers 80-68 Friday night on the second game of their three game road trip this weekend.

Poor shooting returned to the Lady Diggers as they shot a dismal 24-percent from field goal in the first half and 30-percent on the night. Northwest was on the opposite tempo hitting 47-percent of their shots and 60-percent from beyond the arc. Northwest opened with a 15-4 run in the first half and never lost that momentum.

Freshman point guard Mandy Machinal led the Diggers in scoring with 28 points. From Richland, Washington and playing back in her home state for the first time, Machinal shot 5 for 8 from three point range. She added three rebounds, three steals, an assist and a block to her night's totals.

Sophomore Bryn Hasquet led the Diggers in rebounds with eight. Hasquet had 11 points and two steals as well. Australian Dannii Devenny had 12 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists on the night.

The Lady Diggers finish up their long road trip in Olympia tonight at 5:30 pm when they take on Evergreen State College.
