Brian Solomon began his tenure at Montana Tech in a non-conference match-up against rival Montana-Western Tuesday night in Dillon with a win. The Orediggers defeated the Bulldogs 3 to 1, 25-21 25-22 23-25 25-19.
This was the first game won by the Lady Diggers in 15 matches and the first win by Solomon.
Tech out hit Western 46-38.
The Lady Diggers were led by freshmen
Sydney Norris and
Kimmy Kavran. Norris from Puyullup, WA led the team in kills with 17 and a 0.367 hitting percentage. Kavran had 27 digs.
Senior
Shersteen Cline had 13 kills and junior Korey Krum finished with seven.
Setting for the Lady Diggers, freshman Alison Lund had 40 assists and 10 digs.
Miakyla Sullivan from Ennis had a solid night at the net with one solo block and 10 block assists.
The Lady Diggers head to Spokane for the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge where they match up against Cascade Conference teams this weekend.
